Before I begin the actual bio of my character there are a few aspects I wish to clarify. As a warning I shall say this, my bios are no mere outlines or general aspects of my characters. I take the time to write out a full biography of the character. This entails a multipe post bio which generally ranges anywhere from six to twelve full posts in length.
Now this might sound rather overzelous to many of you but I love to write thus its part of my reason for creating such lengthy and detailed bios. However, the true reason as to why I do this is to lay out the character bare for all to see, breaking down every aspect and part to ensure there are no misunderstanding and or misconceptions or discrepences concerning the past, present, or future of the character.
Many of the details are also used as a convience for myself, for my rp posts a rather lengthy as well. The bio is also a place I use to map out and store certain detailed descriptions I more than often use in a in posting. Take for example a physical description. Instead of needing to write out the description every time a post is made which calls for such a discription, I can simply copy and paste from my bio what I need, thus keeping the waiting time for other members in the thread down to a minimum.
I do understand and realize the lengthy descriptions I provide for my characters sometimes give the conception of the character being g-moddish thanks to the amount of details being used to descripe the character. This is not the truth. I will and always provide lengthy and full proof descriptions of my character's weaknesses.
My bios are organized in such a fashion so right after I talk about something positive about the character, I bring up a weakness. For example I describe the character's personality and right after that i provide a description of any mental related weaknesses such as fears and or mental disease. Sometimes the weaknesses are written into the entire description. If there are several paragraphs explain the character's physical description I might say they are build for speed in one paragraph, then in the next describe how and why they lack brute strength.
Major weaknesses, things which can kill the character of cause mortal and or life threatening injuries and easily exposed weaknesses are also written down in full detail as well in the bio. I make sure to balance my character's strengths and weaknesses. For example if I want a character to have the power to be able to regenerate lost limbs, thats fine, but then I put in a weakness which takes away from that power. I might say regenerating an arm means they cannot regenerate any other limbs or damaged organs for a full 48 hours later. Or if the character is none human, as Haseo is, the cost of using such abilities is the requirement to replace this lost energy from healing by devouring human flesh.
In all my years of role playing I have learned a critical lesson. There is a difference between a G-mod type character and a Demi-God type character.
G-mod type characters are those who have absolutely no flaws, physically, mentally, and so on. They are always perfect at everything and always win their battles, can never be defeated and usually tend to oppress everyone else not to mention they tend to auto-kill. Usually the people who have these types of characters are either newbies to the world of rping and don't really understand which is fine since they can be taught different. Or they are people who in real life flat out don't care and just want what they want.
Demi-God characters are different. True they do often possess great power which makes them extremely tough to beat, however they are not 100 percent invincible. These characters do indeed possess weaknesses either mentally, physically or both, though some aspects might be hard to exploit the fact remains they can still be beaten somehow. Demi-Gods are characters designed to the maximum limit of the realm in which they inhabit. Think of it as the max level one can obtain in a video game. Once the character reaches level 99 or 100 in most cases, everything is maxed out, all the stats are maxed out, they are powerful as they can be because that is the limit of the game, of the realm. However, just because a character is level 100 does not mean it cannot be killed by monsters or other characters in the game.
I have seen demi-gods used in such a manner before it was unbelievable at first. I have seen demi-gods used as a tool to train and help other rpers hone their skills and better understand the site and how to make themselves better rpers in general. Since demi-gods usually have such a wide range themselves, this means they are capable of inducing many different situations and aspects and triggering certain events. Demi-Gods can respond to a wide variety of situations and test the limits and boundaries of another player's creative abilities and thus help them to over come those boundaries and evolve as a better writer.
The demi-gods are difficult to over come, yes, but there are ways around them, its all about learning creativity with writing and not relying on a character's actual abilities or being held back by the limitations of the character's species. Its about learning to use the character as an extension of yourself and having it think and react in situations as to how you, yourself would react.
This is one of the oldest forms of rping, and this is how I, myself learned to rp and become a better writer. And this is how I teach others should they desire to become better rpers.
In short, I myself do design very powerful and demi-god type characters. However I know how to control them properly and prevent them from becoming over baring and taking that step into the g-mod catigory. They never go full out unless against an enemy(s) of the same level as they are. They withhold in battles when required, they keep quite about information and allow other characters to make their mistakes, they do loose battles of both wit and strength. They can be killed. In this bio I shall prove what I say, that I can properly control a very powerful character and not have it be a g-mod.
There is one last statement I would like to make. Concerning my character's history and abilities, I have gone over these with Mizu through pm just to be sure they were acceptable for the site.
Since Haseo has fallen out of the demonic realm dimension, he does not have any real jutsu. Instead he bares the basic abilities granted to him from his demon blood. However, he also sports special abilities gifted to him by Skeith. These abilities are what could be called the ancestral base of the modern jutsu in the world of ninja. Or the origin of jutsu itself, whichever one feels like titling it.
These abilities have growth levels, meaning as Haseo progresses through the storyline of the site, his original abilities shall grow as he also learns the methods of combat in this new dimension he's fallen into. Gradually learning new jutsu and so on.
I still have all of the pms sent back and forth to prove what has been said. If you have any questions or concerns about my character than please pm me! I do not desire a large conversation ensuring in my bio please and thank you.[/blockquote]
